Headline news

What follows is possibly the most vivid actual headline that I have seen in a local news source.

Sewage Spill Washes Out Earth Day Plans

Is there a Pulitzer Prize for headlines? For context, here is an excerpt from the actual story:

The Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy has canceled an Earth Day program scheduled for Saturday after more than 600,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into wetlands near the event’s Kalamazoo-area location.  UpNorthLive

This headline worked, almost too well. I just had to read the article. It was particularly good to find out that it was NIMBY (not in my back yard).

Note that it appears to be due to an act of vandalism, which I hope will backfire and actually raise awareness about the need to care for the Earth.
