State environmental regulators may drop a requirement for an injection well to be pursued along the Bay Harbor resort corridor, provided that another disposal method for seeping contaminants in that area continues to perform properly.
The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality had encouraged CMS Land — the company responsible for managing seepage of contaminants along parts of the Bay Harbor shoreline — to pursue that type of deep well as a locally based disposal method for the seepage. Petoskey News-Review
