This article had particular relevance for me, because we just stopped using a tax-preparation firm and switched to Turbo Tax, on the surface saving a lot of money. But I share an anxiety ridden present with Joel Stein. Is what I just did good enough?
Here’s an overview of what we did. We used last year’s filed forms and data, then plugged the similar 2012 data into Turbo Tax. The end result was close to last year’s so it feels good. According to Turbo Tax, our audit risk is low. We’ll see.
